An integrated management system (IMS) is a framework
that brings together an organization's various management systems, such as quality, environmental, and health and safety, into a single, cohesive system. The goal of an IMS is to improve efficiency and effectiveness by eliminating duplication and inconsistencies between the various management systems, and to better align the organization's processes and activities with its overall goals and objectives. IMS certification refers to the process of evaluating an organization's IMS to determine whether it meets the requirements of a particular standard or set of standards. The most common standards used for IMS certification are ISO 9001 (quality management), ISO 14001 (environmental management), and OHSAS 18001 (health and safety management).
A consultancy is a company or individual that provides expert advice, guidance, or assistance to businesses or organizations in a particular field or area of expertise. In the case of IMS certification, a consultancy could provide support to an organization in the process of implementing and maintaining an IMS that meets the requirements of the relevant standards, and in the process of obtaining certification to those standards. This could include helping the organization to understand the requirements of the standards, providing guidance on how to effectively implement and document the IMS, and assisting with the certification process.
